Jura Route Day 6

You’ve ridden almost 300k in just four days, and another 400k to go ! It’s time to get off the bike and stretch your legs. You’re in the perfect city for that.

Although very conscious of its history and tradition, Basel is also a worldwide center for contemporary art, architecture and music. The residents of Basel are proudly Swiss, but they are also just a few minutes away from France and Germany and so the city is very cosmopolitan despite its relatively small size of 200,000 residents.

Your hotel is in the city center and so you’re free to explore the possibilities: visit the zoo, the museum of design, the contemporary art museums, the cartoon museum, the enormous sandstone cathedral or just sit back with a beer on one of the terraces along the Rhine river and watch the boats go by.
